Problems of the Hip, Pelvis, Groin, and Thigh

hipProblems of the Hip, Pelvis, Groin, and Thigh

Hip Flexor Strain – Repetitive use of the iliopsoas and rectus femoris is common in yoga and Pilates, as well as in running, kicking, and cycling. This can produce pain, tenderness, and inflammation in the groin area. Acupuncture applied to flexors, adductors, and hamstrings is very effective in this situation.

Hip Pointer – The iliac crest is the attachment point for the hip flexors and abdominal muscles, as well as the muscles which rotate the hip. It is susceptible to contusion, bruising, and inflammation. Treating this area with acupuncture as well as the gluteal muscles, iliotibal band, and hip flexors is very useful.
